Coming soon!
A vibrant light shone in the air
Of a distant dream that came from there
The dream of triumph over the old, the stale
The place where skin isn’t the final nail
I roam the sky, oh so blue
And land on the green dressed in dew
My friends read red pages of the fight
Made by gens past for a brandished sight
Black is bold, black’s no blight
Black is brilliant, black is still light
Black sheep, odd one bleats with might
For she knows, blacks will dream tonight
Oh blessed rains of peace and purpose
Remind me my family is strong enough for this
We survived the drought
Cast away all doubt
And today my pain goes into remission
God taught me firm belief
To keep me from being swallowed by grief
The day has come
When we have finally won
And now today, my pain goes into submission
White Oleander, so very bright
Guide my friend to peaceful respite
She had a tough pill to swallow
Poisoned with sickness from your roots
But with hair like your petals
And that laugh just as vibrant
Betrayer of well nested doubts
A record of all my cries and shouts
My old friend Hannah is gone
But this stream of tears beg me not to move on
Hannah the bold, still beloved after her passing
When I see her favorite flower I’ll remember us dancing
The White Oleander, poisonous to the touch
But as for me, I’ll love that flower
Oh so very much
Love is a tree, planted a seed
And slowly sprouts, tender and fragile
And many prance nimble and agile
But love grows strong in a heart that’s docile
Storms may come and rain will drizzle
But the warmth around that seed does not fizzle
Because summer days are long and winter nights are hard
But a love once grown is not easily scarred
Tonight I feel the soothing breeze
The one that lulls me to rest
When it finds me, my worries seize
And I sleep my very best
Listen to the gentlest rain patter
Until those little doubts don’t matter
Find a tree, borrow its shelter
To stay dry in stormy weather
A lullaby’s been promised to me
When that warm moonlight comes back with glee
Be at peace beneath Nature’s blanket
And always, always remember to thank it
Beyond the reach of your fellow man
We stand together hand in hand
But they rain fear down on the bird in need
They bully and bruise in spite of the deed
They say to submit and silence the tale
Of the hunter of your common nightingale
Their tactics their beliefs, armed to the teeth
There’s words to be spoken to nature’s thief
Blacking out the sky in hopes of despair
Steady wings take flight to escape the waking brown bear
The world will watch but we see what it says
If no one prevents a siege on our promises
